Frequently Asked Questions

Business Coaching

Below are some frequently asked questions that should give you some insight into how working with me will help you achieve your business goals.

Business coaching is a powerful and effective way to help individuals who are facing challenges, feeling dissatisfied, underachieving or experiencing a crisis in their professional life, or who simply want to take their career or business to the next level. Business coaching can help them achieve their goals faster and easier than they would on their own. Business coaching involves a collaborative process of assessment, decision making, goal setting and goal attainment. In each session, the client chooses the focus of conversation, while the coach listens and contributes observations and questions. This interaction creates clarity and moves the client toward action. Business coaching accelerates the client’s progress by providing greater focus and awareness of choice. Business coaching concentrates on where the client is now and what is s/he will need to do to get where s/he wants to be in the future.

Business coaching is a valuable investment for anyone who wants to grow personally and professionally. It can help you overcome obstacles, unlock your potential, improve your performance, increase your happiness, and achieve your desired outcomes

Business coaching works in practice by following a structured process that involves assessing the current situation, setting goals, creating action plans, executing strategies, and achieving outcomes. A business coach guides a businessperson or a team in the pursuit of their work goals by providing feedback, support, and accountability. The process can be customized to suit the specific needs and preferences of each client and coach.

Some of the steps involved in business coaching are:

  • Assessing the current situation: This involves identifying the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of the business or the individual. It also involves conducting a gap analysis to determine what needs to be addressed or improved.
  • Setting goals: This involves defining the vision and mission of the business or the individual. It also involves setting SMART (specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound) goals that align with their values and purpose.
  • Creating action plans: This involves breaking down the goals into manageable tasks and milestones. It also involves identifying the resources, tools, and strategies needed to accomplish each task.
  • Executing strategies: This involves implementing the action plans with discipline and consistency. It also involves empowering and delegating responsibilities to team members if applicable.
  • Achieving outcomes: This involves measuring and evaluating the progress and results of the action plans. It also involves celebrating successes, learning from failures, and making adjustments as needed.

No, a business coach does not tell you what to do. A business coach is a professional mentor who supports, educates and motivates you as a business owner or manager. A business coach provides recommendations, feedback and guidance for your plans and strategies, but ultimately you are the one who makes the decisions and takes the actions. A business coach helps you to clarify your vision and goals, assess your strengths and weaknesses, develop your skills and grow your business. A business coach is not there to dictate or control your business, but to empower and inspire you to achieve your potential.

Coaching is essential for achieving excellent performance, learning new skills, reaching goals, and enjoying work. That’s why many successful entrepreneurs and financial professionals choose to work with a coach on a continuing basis.

I ask my clients to commit to coaching for at least three to six months. This is because it takes time for new behaviors and marketing strategies to show results.

Coaching can be very effective for short-term change, but my clients usually stay with coaching for 12 to 18 months or longer. The learning that happens during coaching creates lasting results that continue for one to three years. Business Coaching is not a “quick fix” or a short-term relationship. It is a long-term investment in your success.

Unfortunately the honest answer is No. Here’s why…
Montather Rassoul’s Business Coaching Firm is designed to make YOU more successful and at the end of the day, only you can guarantee that you will do what it takes to make that happen.
If we presented you with the best Tennis Coach in the world to work with, but you never practised tennis between the coaching sessions, you are unlikely to become a world-class tennis player. It is the same with Business Coaching… if you don’t complete the Actions you commit to take, you won’t see the same levels of success.
If we don’t meet your expectations you are free to stop working with us at any time…to date none of our clients have ever stopped a Business Coaching programme for this reason!

This varies considerably from country to country and it also depends on the coach’s speciality. Ask the coach you want to engage to explain their fees.

A consultant is usually an expert in a specific industry, will give you answers to all your questions, and may even implement strategies and programs for you.
A coach will ask probing questions to bring out your unique abilities, help you create a vision and plan for the future, and will stay with you while you implement changes.
A coach holds you accountable for what you say you’ll do, gives you a push to do more than you would do on your own, and helps you overcome limiting beliefs that are holding you back from success.
I am both a consultant and a coach.

You need a coach if you want help:
• organizing your thoughts
• creating a practical and effective plan
• prioritize goals and tasks
• being more accountable for following through on tasks
• maintaining high motivation even in the face of difficulties
• understanding how you sabotage your efforts (and figuring out what to do about this self-sabotage)
You need a consultant if you want:
• the advice and experience of someone who is successfully self-employed
• to understand the basics of business planning and marketing
• to learn business and marketing skills in a rapid fashion
• to find ways to manage and follow-up on your business success
If you want help in both areas, you need both coaching and consulting. I strongly encourage my clients to use me as a coach-consultant, the best of both worlds.
In all cases, I will:
• Ask thought-provoking questions to stimulate you to look at things in new ways
• Really listen to what you say. Not only to the surface content of what you are saying, but also listening for the patterns, beliefs and feelings behind content
• Give honest feedback on what I observe
• Assign you “homework” to do between coaching sessions

Here are some of the topics that we often discuss with my clients:
• How to get more of the important things done
• How to balance the demands of being self-employed with your personal life
• How to use planning to grow your business
• How to attract more clients
• How to create and follow marketing plan that’s actually do-able by a small business owner
• How to close more sales
• How to keep more profit from the revenue you’re earning.

Individuals will be clear about what they want from life. They will go after it with passion, because they have cleared away the obstacles that blocked them.
They will have a more satisfying and happier life in every aspect. Professionally, they will be more effective and skilled at their work and get better results.
For organisations, coaching is a long-term investment in higher business performance. It is the most cost effective way of getter higher performance from key individuals. Coaching is evidence of the company’s commitment to developing its people and contributes to a supportive organisational culture with high morale.
Coaching retains key employees and avoids:
• The cost of retraining
• The loss of company knowledge to competitors
• The drop in productivity when personnel leave.

The results are often dependent upon you and your determination to not only follow the coaching program and my recommendations, but to also decide that nothing will stop you from getting the results you desire. See the testimonials page for more information
